Assist operations with their mine planning and scheduling requirements by developing short term plans and tasks to support mining operations.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or similar
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years experience in Mining
- At least 2 years Mine Planning / Scheduling experience.
- Work with the client to design work areas for the following periods (day, week, month & quarter)
- Design Blast patterns and assist explosive supplier in optimising the fragmentation.
- Understand and be able to estimate equipment productivity to determine the required resources needed to achieve the plan.
- Liaising with the Mine Planning team to ensure that schedules are aligned with quarterly forecasts and the financial year operating plans.
- Monitor actual performance against schedules and capture, record, and report nonadherence to the schedules to the operational management team.
- Identify critical risks to the schedules and plan for elimination of, or contingency for those risks.
- Monitor and analyse scheduling system performance.
- Collect, validate, and communicate daily and shift operational performance data.
- Optimise and schedule development and mining activities to achieve the operational KPIs.
- Measuring pit design conformance, to ensure safe mining conditions within the pit.
- Pro-active scenario planning
- Manage customer expectations and requirements to deliver effective and efficient planning services to the business in line with company values and standards.
- Build and maintain key customer relationships by liaising with appropriate departments to understand their needs and provide advice.
- Provide reliable information for the development and revision of the short-term operational schedules.
- Advise and provide recommendations for improvement opportunities in work processes and contribute to the implementation of endorsed improvement initiatives.
- Attend all planning and other relevant meetings.
- Assist with Mining and Engineering construction plans.
- Develop detailed task lists to ensure the pit standards are maintained.
- Develop detailed weekly plans which allocate resources (people, equipment, support etc) to specific areas which includes but is not limited to the following: preparation of drilling blocks, drilling activities, charging process, blasting, loading area prep, dumping area prep, road maintenance, quality control throughout.
- Review and adjust daily plans to align with the months budgeted figures.
- Provide data regularly to production management to act upon including operator performance, speed reports, non-adherence to plan/schedule, poor mining practices etc.
- Advance level of SURPAC / XPAC usage
- Detailed understanding of mining asset capabilities and operational metrics.
- TALPAC / FPC ability and capability
- Experience and capability in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Projects applications
