Job Requirements & Responsibilities
The Incumbent is responsible for maintaining accounts on various financial systems, performing reconciliations, ensuring accurate daily payments for a large number of suppliers and supporting in streamlining processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Outputs
- Oversee the daily face value sales capturing process for all municipalities in the payment master file
- Preparation of the daily prepaid fund’s calculation and subsequent testing of the accuracy and completeness of the loaded funds by 3rd parties
- Review daily commission and recoveries withheld from payments to municipalities
Review of daily payment packs
- Investigation of variances between external sales reports and system (AEON) reports
- Immediate resolution of any queries from the Service Delivery Manager and Product Manager
- Accurate logging of all reporting requests and changes from municipalities on the Technology Service Desk Portal
- Accurate logging of technical issues experienced during the vending process on the Technology Service Desk Portal
- Follow up with Technical Operations for query resolution
- Processing of journals on Pastel
- Perform reconciliations between the external sales reports and Pastel general ledger
- Perform reconciliations between external itemised sales reports and AEON sales per tokens reports
- Prepaid sales reconciliations
- Resolving daily internal and external queries timeously
- Ability to deal professionally and empathetically with difficult customers
- Daily review of certain technical operations reports and escalation of potential issues
- Assist with the payment master file automation process mapping and testing
- Assist with the reconciliation automation process and testing
- Assist with the development of management reports and dashboards
- Handling of internal and external audit queries
- Ensure timeous payment authorisations by relevant manager
- Payments Master file administration
- Create new customer and supplier accounts on Pastel
- Ensure the daily payment master is complete, accurate and sales are reasonable compared to trends
- Ensure the master payment file is maintained and kept current by adding, correcting and deleting information
- Ensure integrity of the payment master files by checking formulas, formatting and cross checking to supporting files
- Ensure all control and test totals balance
- Daily linking of master payment files to the reconciliation files
- Requesting outstanding reports Investigate any large or unusual variances

Education
- B Com degree – finance-related field
- Articles completion is advantageous
- Advanced Excel is advantageous
Experience
- 3 years as an intermediate/senior accountant
