Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Accountable for ensuring that hospital facilities are clean and in good operating conditions. The incumbent is accountable for performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 and a National Certificate in Engineering.
- Sound knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical wiring.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- General maintenance experience.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Complete minor repair work, including repairing doors, frames and replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches and windows.
- Performing basic plumbing tasks, such as unclogging drains and fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
- Conducting inspections on control panels and electrical wiring to detect issues and immediately repair.
- Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
- Facilitate review of all maintenance procedures and make relevant updates.
- Accountable for preventative maintenance of the facility, including remodeling and painting.4
- Keep equipment in a safe working order.
- Inspect and arrange for repair of fixtures, sewer systems, fire extinguishing systems, mechanical equipment under the direction of the Technical Manager.
