Our client is a prominent player in the fruit export industry, and they are seeking to appoint a Logistics Account Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a goal-driven go-getter with a strong work ethic and a passion for service delivery. This position is based in Strand and will report to the Logistics Manager.
Responsibilities:
The planning, contracting, and controlling the supply chain activities of one of the company’s key accounts, in the export process of perishable products worldwide.
Main functions:
- Develop the optimum supply chain
- Contract service providers that will perform the logistics activities
- Setup service contracts and procedures
- Manage the executions of the supply chain
- Interact with the exporter to ensure a successful execution
- Perform administration activities to control the process
Minimum requirements:
- Degree / Diploma in logistics or supply chain management
- 4-7 years’ supply chain management experience in a similar sized business
- Operational shipping and spend analysis experience
- Experience in import and exports operations and supplier management
- Operational Planning (basic understanding of demand planning/forecasting)
- Knowledge of global shipping and trade routes
- Knowledge of key account management
- Basic supply chain costing knowledge to interpret rates, update costing and invoice verification
- Ability to develop, write, negotiate, execute, and administer contracts for projects, commodities, and services
- Knowledge and experience of Incoterms
- Basic knowledge of export documentation
- Strong negotiation skills
- Cost chain management skills
- Effective communication at all levels with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent information processing and analysis and decision-making skills
- Report writing and computer skills i.e., MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
- An above average Computer literacy will be required
- Resilient with the ability to cope under pressure
