Job Requirements & Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to assess company needs, receives robust information, and analyses it, looking for tell-tale trends or areas for improvement.
Responsibilities and Duties
To achieve this objective the Supply Chain & Operations Engineer must:
- Identify Continuous improvement opportunities in Supply Chain and Operations processes, operational facilities, systems, and cross department processes
- Quantitative and Qualitative data and process analysis to support identification root cause challenges and to aid in formulation of continuous improvement ideas
- Investigate pain points within the process and develop solutions to resolve conflicts and inefficiencies
- Developing new processes and procedures to enhance supply chain, operations, and cross functional processes
- Co-ordinate and manage a program of continuous improvement initiatives
- Continuous Improvement initiative tracking and reporting
- Manage workstreams in Supply Chain and Operations physical transformation projects i.e. opening and closing warehouses, new system implementations, implementing and stabilizing new operations, processes and service providers
- Working with managers and employees to implement changes
- Plan and implement supply chain and operations projects and manage project team members and stakeholders
Requirements:
The incumbent must possess the following skills, capabilities, and attributes:
- A tertiary qualification in B.Eng. (Industrial)/ Hons. Logistics, Logistics Management, B.Tech degree or similar degree
- SAPICS CPIM or CSCP certification would be an advantage
- 3-5 years or more relevant industry experience would be an advantage
- Logistics and Supply Chain management knowledge would be an advantage
- Experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage
- Experience or certification in lean six sigma or other continuous improvement frameworks and toolsets will be an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- A professional and outcome driven approach
- Attention to detail, self-motivated and confident
- Self-starter, with ability to work alone and in cross functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced excel knowledge is important
- Experience in database tools (Microsoft Access or similar) and business intelligence tools (MS Power BI or similar) would be an advantage
- Programming (Python) and SQL capabilities would be an advantage
- Project management skills. A project management certification would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of MS Project would be an advantage
- Sound presentation skills
- Good time management ability
- Professional in manner and appearance
