Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Quality Controller Assistant to be placed in Venetia Mine The successful candidate will report to the Quality Assurance Coordinator. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
· Perform duties as prescribed by the MHSA and in line with M&RC’s policies, procedures, standards, safety protocols and ISO certification requirements
- Plan, organise, schedule and coordinate safety and risk activities efficiently
- Effective implementation, monitoring, document control, business management system maintenance and reporting of risk and safety processes and initiatives
- Accurate and timely risk audits, facilitation of incidents / accident investigations, provide recommendations, and monitor critical control / corrective action processes
- Proactive risk identification, mitigation and compliance
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and timeous reporting of unsafe acts / conditions
- Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Mechanical / Electrical / Construction / Mining FET Certificate at NQF 4 [essential]
- Introduction to ISO 9001 standard [essential]
- ISO 9001 Auditing [preferred]
- Higher Certificate in Total Quality Management / National Certificate Quality Management Systems or similar at NQF 5 [preferred]
- Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel]
- Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness to conduct underground visits
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels
- Able to read and understand construction, mining and structural drawings
- Analytical, systematic, observant, perceptive and attentive to detail
- Deadline driven with strong work ethic, planning and organising skills
- Assertive and able to work independently within the rules
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 3 years mining and / or construction experience with exposure to quality control on a mining project
