Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to permanently appoint 2 competent individuals within the Bindery department as General Assistants. To assist in the binding of magazines and commercial print work to ensure that it meets client job specification and quality standards. The successful incumbents will report to the Bindery Shift Leader.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting the journeyman in the Bindery in setting up of Bindery machines
- Performing change overs and make-ready
- Feeding of Binding machines
- Gathering and packing of printed material
- Maintaining safe occupational health and safety standards
- Ad-hoc tasks include general housekeeping and assistance with maintenance in the Bindery
Educational Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in a FMCG bindery environment
- Folding & Guillotine skills advantageous
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have technical aptitude and interest in the Printing Industry
- Show initiative to improve the work environment
- Safety consciousness
- Flexibility to work shifts and long hours
- Be physically fit for the working environment
- Computer literacy on this level would be an advantage
- Excellent time and attendance
