Senior Technical specialist, is prominent position within our Technical Services career path. At this stage of your career, you are displaying mastery of appropriate and effective troubleshooting and service behaviours and are leading your junior counterparts in employing quality workmanship.
Improve efficiency to increase the profitability of the business. Assist with project management, materials purchasing, and quality checks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)
- Service and maintain all products sold by Stryker SA
- Ensure compliance with the quality systems and the manufacture’s specifications.
- Provide technical support to service technicians and customers.
- Provide technical documentation to both internal and external customers.
- Provide an interface between Technical Service Manager and service technicians.
- Attend to customer callouts and arrange backup loaners: liaise with internal and external customers, supply backup loaners and work according to deadlines. Ensure effective job card systems and give feedback to customers when required.
- Reports: Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records (weekly reports) in a timely manner.
- Improve efficiency to increase the profitability of the business.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Drive and manage the equipment commissioning process for new equipment as per Stryker protocols
- Run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace.
- Maintaining tools and test equipment properly and ensuring they are calibrated.
- Working as a member of the local team to provide efficient and cost effective service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area.
- Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standard, according to the Stryker Service Quality Policy Statement.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Qualified to National Diploma or B-Tech Degree level or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical electronics, combined with good mechanical skills, previous experience with maintenance of medical equipment in a clinical environment – Navigation and Mako robotics experience will be advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the medical device industry
- Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
- High work standards and quality. Initiative and motivation. Plans and organizes work effectively.
- Comprehensive Stryker product portfolio knowledge required
- Ability to interpret manufacturing prints & troubleshooting guidelines
- Fluency in English, spoken & written
- Good IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, MFG/Pro, Outlook)
- Proven performance (internal or external).
- Valid driving licence
